Over 70,000 head to Hillside

It’s hard to believe that the British Masters was under threat last year given the bumper crowd of over 70,000 people who attended 2019's event - no doubt drawn in by home town hero and tournament host Tommy Fleetwood.

The galleries were treated to glorious golf, wonderful weather and fantastic facilities (despite its questionable timing in the golfing calendar). Come Sunday afternoon, it looked as though a playoff would be the most likely outcome, until Marcus Kinhult birdied his final two holes to win by one from Matt Wallace, Eddie Pepperell and Robert MacIntyre.

Englishman Wallace slammed his putter into the ground after squandering good chances for birdie on both 17 and 18, but can take heart from yet another fantastic performance as he makes his away across the pond to tee it up at the PGA Championship this week.

Grip check

Take a look at your grips, you may feel they are ok but if you compare them to a new grip you will be surprised at the difference. Even though they may not look worn, grips get worn and a bit shiny over time, the consequence is that you start gripping the club harder which leads to poor shots and higher scores.

What would you say if we could show you a way of achieving greater accuracy and longer distance from the tee? You would say yes, right? Well, here’s your answer…

Have you been custom fitted?

First things first, the easiest way to achieve the holy grail of long, straight drives is to find the middle of the clubface every time, which is easier said than done for most of us. Following that, it’s all about launching your drives high with a good spin rate.

Simple, right?

It doesn’t matter how fast or smoothly you swing, if the clubhead and shaft are a bad match for the way you play, your chances of sending a perfect drive into the air will be seriously hampered.

Callaway Epic Flash drivers

So, the very first thing we need to do is get you fitted correctly. During the process, we will chat about your game, watch you hit some balls, and assess what you have told us in order to find the right shaft/head combination for your game.

Two clubs that we will definitely try are Callaway’s Epic Flash and Epic Flash Sub-Zero drivers.

Both drivers come with Flash Face and Jailbreak Technology for increased ball speeds, with the Sub-Zero being a lower-spin option.
